JASPER, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 10, 2011 – The Jasper Clean Energy Center’s environmental team has completed their initial review of the effect that the facility would have on air quality in the city of Jasper and Dubois County. They have concluded that emissions from the facility would be within EPA air quality standards and not increase public health risk. Emissions from the facility, compared to background air quality – represent an insignificant contribution for all air pollutants. Jasper Mayor Bill Schmitt would like to remind the public that the City is holding an informational meeting on February 8, 2011 with regards to the proposal for utilization of the power plant from Twisted Oak Corporation. The proposed project is called 'Jasper Clean Energy Center.' This is the only forum that is sponsored by the City of Jasper. This is also the only forum where officials from the City of Jasper and Twisted Oak and its team members will be in attendance to answer questions. The City has not agreed to nor scheduled any other meeting date at this time.
